Flight Basics

Send Off

This was Villages Honor Flight's fifth flight taking WWII vets to DC to see the WWII Memorial and other historic sites.

25 vets and 25 guardians departed American Legion Post 347 early in the AM on their way to Orlando Airport and then to DC.  In DC they visited the WWII, Korean War and Viet Nam Memorials on the DC Mall, the USMC Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery (where they will view the Changing of the Guard ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns)

Vets and Guardians assembled at the American Legion Post 347 (Route 466 and Rolling Acres Road) at 4:30AM on 26-Mar-2013.  The bus departed for the airport about 5:30AM

Home Coming

The bus arrived back at the American Legion Post 347 (Route 466 and Rolling Acres Road) at a few minutes past midnight on 26-Mar-2013.  Home coming activities started about 11PM
