Each
honor flight mission goes through a series of phases or stages:
-
the flight date has been
proposed
(date may be shifted a few days in either
direction due to flight costs or other considerations).
-
the flight date has been approved and reservations made; initial
planning can start
-
Planning: (starts 10 to 12 weeks before the actual flight date);
planning for the specific mission is underway, vets and guardians are
being notified, flight manifest is being built
-
Pre Flight: (starts 6 weeks before flight); vets and guardians
have been selected; vets and guardians attend two preflight sessions;
final arrangements are made/confirmed for transportation, venues,
permissions, etc
-
Flight: (1 week before flight);
-
Post Flight: (flight day +1 through Reunion)
-
Complete: All activities, including Reunion,
associated with the mission are complete
-
Flight is "on Hold"; it is proposed as a alternate date should one of
the other flights be cancelled
The
"Vets" and "Guardians" columns indicate how full a given flight is
as of the date at the bottom of the page. Unless
otherwise indicated, all flights are 25 vets and 25 guardians.
